Exploration Geologist

Task description

  • Geological fieldwork including mapping, sampling and drill core documentation
  • Geological data processing
  • Creation processing of 3D geological models
  • Processing and interpretation of geochemical data
  • Mineral predictive mapping using AI
  • Mineral resource assessment
  • Reporting and presentation of investigation results / finding

Working place

  • Saxony and Germany, but also abroad in European Union and overseas

Expected qualifications

  • University degree in one of the following fields:
    • Geology, economic geology, mineralogy, geophysics or geosciences with a focus on mineral exploration and geological 3D modelling or comparable

Knowledge and experience 

  • At least 5 years of experience in at least three of the following areas:
    • Geological field work
    • Geoscientific data processing
    • Economic geology and resource evaluation
    • 3D geological modelling with SKUA-GOCAD and/or LeapFrog
    • ArcGIS or QGIS software

Soft Skills

  • Independent, target-oriented and commercially-oriented
  • Technological curiosity

  • Open to other cultures and environments
  • Sense for customer needs
  • Friendly and open manner towards customers and colleagues
  • Driving licence
  • Working permit for Germany

Language skills:

  • German B2
  • English and/ or other language would be an advantage
