24th Annual Conference of The International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG):
Short course “Machine learning tools for mineral systems modelling and mineral predictive mapping”
Presentations and poster with results from CriticalMAAS, DroneSOM and DeepBEAT projects
23rd – 28th August 2026, Montreal (Canada)

Beak is happy to announce the Pre-Conference Short Course “Machine learning tools for mineral systems modelling and mineral predictive mapping”, taking place on 23rd August 2026, which is organized and will be conducted by Beak Consultants GmbH together with the Geological Survey of Finland / Geologian tutkimuskeskus (GTK) at the 24th Annual Conference of The International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG 2026) in Montreal (Canada).
This short course will provide best practices, new ideas and insights in mineral exploration, especially with regards to application of the newly developed open source tools for mineral systems modelling and mineral predictive mapping.
The short course will showcase free software tools developed in the frame of the EU-funded project “EIS – Exploration Information System” funded by European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) through Horizon Europe.

In addition, it is our pleasure to announce that Beak will be part of the Technical Session “S07 Geoinformatics for Mineral Exploration: Integrated Spatial Intelligence and Target Generation” at the IAMG 2026, taking place on Wednesday, 26th August 2026, from 10:30 AM until 3:30 PM local time in room “R1”.
Starting the session at 10:30 AM, there will be the presentation “Advancing Continental-Scale MVT Prospectivity Mapping: A Comparative Analysis of Bayesian Neural Networks and Data-Driven Negative Sampling in North America”, compiled by Roberto De La Rosa, Michael Steffen, Andreas Knobloch from Beak, and Joshua Rosera from USGS.

Later on in the session, at 11:30 AM, “3D Multi Method Geophysical Data Integration Using Self Organizing Maps: A Case Study in DroneSOM Project with Data from the SeemsDeep Project” will be presented by Ina Storch from Beak, compiled together with Sami Niemi from GTK (Geological Survey of Finland).

At the end of the session, at 3:14 PM, the poster “DeepBEAT: Data Fusion in a District-Scale 3D Model for Mineral Predictive Mapping in the Erzgebirge in Germany and Krušné Hory in the Czech Republic” will be displayed, compiled by Andreas Brosig and Anne Sokolinski from Beak.
