Annual Conference of the “Afrikagruppe deutscher GeowissenschaftlerInnen” (AdG)
2nd Circular: Program

1st - 2nd July 2016, Freiberg (Germany)

Dear members and friends of the “Afrikagruppe deutscher GeowissenschaftlerInnen” (AdG), we cordially invite you to this-year’s AdG-conference, which will take place in Freiberg (Germany). We look forward to welcome you to the “Alte Mensa” of the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg (TUBAF) on Friday and Saturday, 1st and 2nd July 2016.

The core topic for 2016 is:
„Geosciences for sustainable development in Africa: Resources, geohazards, information management“.

Geosciences are the key for opening up and making available Africa’s remarkable wealth of mineral resources.

The conference will discuss topics like:

  • How can information technology generate access to the knowledge that is stored at the Geological Surveys, Universities and archives, and distribute it?
  • How does unsustainable land use cause or force geohazards?
  • What is the role of small-scale mining?
  • How do all these factors impact each other?

The event is organised in co-operation with the Institute for Geology of the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg.

The conference program is out now and available here.

You can still register using the conference homepage www.adg2016.de.

We look forward to your participation!
