Beak presents “TEVLiS – Technologies for Extraction and Processing of Lithium Mica from Tailings in the Ore Mountains” at the 75th BHT – Freiberg University Forum 2024

The “75th BHT – Freiberger University Forum 2024” takes place in Freiberg (Germany) at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg from 5th until 7th June 2024. Beak is participating the session FK10 “recomine – Holistic Mine Waste Solutions made in Saxony”. recomine is an alliance of predominantly regional partners from industry, science and society in the Erzgebirge (Saxony/Germany). The alliance is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) since 2018 with a total of €12.7 million and is coordinated by the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology. With the vision of developing innovative and holistic solutions for mining waste, recomine supports R&D projects that address the intersection of environmental technology, resource technology, Industry 4.0 and social issues. The aim is to bring regional know-how at real development sites together.
Nailia Rizatdinova from Beak will present “Technologies for the Extraction and Processing of Lithium Mica from Tailings in the Ore Mountains: A Case Study of the Bielatal Industrial Tailings Pond (TEVLiS)” on 5th June at 10:45 AM CEST during the session FK10 in the room UBH-0205 (B) at Winklerstraße 3 in Freiberg. The aim of the project TEVLiS is to develop an innovative technology chain for the extraction and processing of lithium (Li) mica and potential accompanying components (such as cassiterite and quartz) from tailings, using the example of the Bielatal industrial tailings facility (IAA) in the Ore Mountains. The main focus is on the combination and optimization of known technologies for resource estimation based on artificial neural networks (ANN), recovery and processing of materials from tailings, as well as on the further processing of Li-mica concentrate into marketable Li products.
